I recently stayed at a property in Murchison called Off The Beaten Trail, and I absolutely loved it. The accommodation was like staying in a cozy house, with separate blocks on the same property. The outdoor area was spacious and relaxing, perfect for enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Our unit had a heat pump, which was a lifesaver as the weather was very warm when we arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to assist us. The property even had a swing and bouncy castle for the kids, and there were plenty of seating areas outside. Plus, it was just a short 3-minute walk to nearby eateries and shops. One thing that really stood out was the exceptional customer service - when we accidentally left our camera behind, Aaron from the staff took care of it and sent it to our family in Auckland. It was waiting for us when we arrived, which was amazing. our stay at Off The Beaten Trail was A+++. Highly recommended.

Great location near the beautiful Buller River for jet boating. Comfortable bed and nice garden setting, perfect for a retreat from the rainy weather outside.
Awkward dish cleanup after breakfast with a small bathroom sink and no dishwashing detergent provided. Outdoor kitchen not appealing in wet weather.

We had a warm welcome from Jenny. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was a good size for 2 adults. It was within a lovely garden setting which we could walk around. For a much lower price than an average motel room you got much better value for money. For larger groups there were 2 other self contained separate cottages still at very competitive prices. Would recommend.

Very clean studio accommodation, with very modern en suite with excellent shower .Beautiful garden setting. However the facilities for cooking were not as expected, but ok for simple breakfast.
Warning - the Kea studio is described as having a kitchen. It does not. No sink or cooking facilities other than a microwave. So arriving with food to cook a meal, and then having to spend $60 on buying a meal out was not what we expected.

Riversong Cottages was our sort of place, it exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed a very relaxed stay in pleasant mature garden surroundings. The unit was lovely and we were pleased to have use of wireless internet. We'll be back!

Beautiful garden setting. Quiet and calm with a lovely patio on which to sit and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine. As a short stop this could not be bettered.

Very "homey" atmosphere, with very welcoming staff. Felix the cat made himself at home in our cottage which made us feel at home. Lovely garden which we were free to share and relax in. Very convenient to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.
